GivingTuesdayNow: A Chance to Support Capitol Lakes Staff

With your help, Your Capitol Lakes Foundation has consistently worked to enhance the living experience for our residents. Recruiting and retaining the best staff possible is one of the most important ways you can help protect the quality of life for all residents who call Capitol Lakes home. During these difficult times, your support for our staff is needed now more than ever.

Some of our residents - in appreciation and concern for our wonderful staff - recently undertook a Pandemic Support Campaign to raise funds for those who need it. Some of our staff are facing financial difficulty because of the loss of a second job. Others have spouses, partners, or family members out of work. As the pandemic wears on a few have also unfortunately been furloughed.

Donations to Your Capitol Lakes Foundation help our staff meet critical financial obligations like:

  • Housing expenses: to help with rent or mortgage payments to avoid eviction or foreclosure

  • Transportation: to aid with car repairs or to fund alternate transportation to ensure staff can make it in to work

  • Health Insurance: to cover an employees' share of their health insurance premiums if they have been furloughed

  • Utility payments: to prevent utilities being disconnected

  • Illness: to support employees facing a medical emergency

Your Capitol Lakes Foundation has already earmarked over $4,000 in emergency support in the last two weeks alone - that's nearly 50% of the need based aid we typically give in an entire year in just 14 days!

If you would like to join our residents in providing critical support to Capitol Lakes staff members on GivingTuesdayNow or at any time you can make a donation here. Please know that your gift of any amount will be put to immediate good use. Just read a thank you note we recently received from one of our employees whose family members are out of work:

"Thank you so much for your generosity and support during these hard times. Now I will be able to focus less on the stress of financial burdens and more on studying to be a nurse and working as a CNA. Capitol Lakes is such an amazing place to work for and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity that I have to help brighten the days of each and every one of my residents."

Thanks again for the many ways you support Capitol Lakes and the larger community. We hope that you and yours are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.
