About a year ago, in June 2021, we asked you to help us double tuition assistance rates for our student workers. Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, for the Fall 2021 as well as Spring and Summer 2022 semesters we gave between $250 - $1,000 to help our team with their tuition.
Because of you, for the first time EVER we cut ten checks of $1,000 to our full time team members. For some of these staff who work full time and are part time students, this generous amount nearly covered their entire tuition bill! And for our part time staff who had previously qualified for just $250 over 12 months, your support means we can help them with this amount every semester – giving them relief each time they go to pay their tuition bill.
As we look ahead to the upcoming fall semester, your overwhelming commitment last year means we can confidently keep these increased rates for at least the next two school years which means the world to team members like Capitol Lakes’ Resident Assistant, John Omelina. The help from the Tuition Assistance program means more than I can say. When I applied money was really tight. The benefit wasn’t just a ‘nice thing to have’ but was needed to help me pay my tuition while covering my other bills. I was also grateful the application process was so easy because at that time I was also taking my MCATs while juggling finals and work. This program is just another reason why I like working at Capitol Lakes.
