According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Caring for individuals with dementia related illnesses can be challenging – both physically and emotionally – but for Capitol Lakes’ staff members Haleigh Carter and Patti Bell, it’s a calling.

Because of your support, we were able to award Haleigh and Patti a scholarship to attend the Alzheimer’s Association’s 33rd annual Wisconsin State Conference. What they learned paid dividends well beyond the registration fee, reinforcing that the disease is not the person and to adapt, connect, and meet residents living with Alzheimer’s where they are.
