At Capitol Lakes, we recognize the profound impact of education and the critical role it plays in supporting our student workers. The tuition assistance program, made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors, is one way we make a tangible difference in the lives of Capitol Lakes employees. Today, we proudly share the inspiring journey of Bree Zintz, a dedicated member of our team for eight years. Her transition from kitchen staff to aspiring counselor highlights the growth and empowerment we aim to cultivate at Capitol Lakes.
Bree's Journey at Capitol Lakes

Bree Zintz has been an essential part of the Capitol Lakes community for nearly a decade. While she now works as the Assistant Dining Manager, she began her career here as a cook, where her talents quickly earned her the endearing title "The Scone Lady." While her responsibilities have grown, you can occasionally still find her cooking or baking in one of Capitol Lakes' three kitchens.
Beyond her professional achievements, Bree values the supportive atmosphere fostered by both residents and coworkers. She describes her team as close-knit and collaborative. They work daily to provide top-notch food service, and this camaraderie has inspired Bree to pursue further education.
A Commitment to Education
Bree's educational journey showcases her determination and resilience. Six years ago, she earned an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, paving the way for her culinary career. Realizing her passion for helping others, she decided to return to school to pursue a Master’s degree in Psychology and Counseling. Bree aims to specialize in supporting postpartum women and families.
The tuition assistance program from the Capitol Lakes Foundation has been vital for Bree as she works toward her educational goals. As she recently said:
Tuition assistance from the Foundation brings me one step closer to achieving something I’m very passionate about! Thank you!
Inspiring Growth and Change
Bree Zintz's story exemplifies the transformative potential of the Capitol Lakes Foundation's tuition assistance program. Her path from culinary arts to counseling illustrates the vital role education plays and the support that helps make such journeys possible. At Capitol Lakes, we take pride in empowering our employees to chase their dreams and work towards a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
As we continue to champion our student workers, we invite others to join our mission. Together, we can create an environment where education is prioritized, and individuals are motivated to realize their full potential. Bree's journey is just one of many within our Capitol Lakes family, and we look forward to sharing more stories of inspiration and success in the future.
