Thanks to your support, in 2025 - for the first time in its history - the Capitol Lakes Foundation fully covered the cost of benevolent care need at Capitol Lakes. This milestone marks a significant achievement in supporting residents who have outlived their resources, helping them stay in their homes. This accomplishment brings peace of mind not only to residents but by extension to their families, reinforcing our shared commitment to to protect residents quality of life as they age.
Truly, the Benevolent Care program at Capitol Lakes goes beyond enhancing daily living. It safeguards dignity and stability during a vulnerable time in life. For many families, this support alleviates the stress of uncertain futures and provides a safety net that allows residents to focus on enjoying their community and relationships.
Progress Over the Past Decade
Ten years ago, the Foundation was unable to contribute financially to Benevolent Care. Over time and thanks to you, the Foundation steadily increased its support:
In 2017, the Foundation covered 7% of Benevolent Care costs.
By 2020, this support had grown to 37%.
In 2025, philanthropic contributions covered 100% of the program’s costs.
This steady growth reflects the dedication of donors and supporters who believe in the mission of Capitol Lakes. Their generosity has transformed the program into a resource that can be fully funded through philanthropic contributions.
How Philanthropic Support Benefits the Entire Community
Covering the full cost of Benevolent Care through donations shifts the financial responsibility away from all residents through their monthly fees. This change means that all residents, regardless of their individual means, no longer share the burden of supporting those in need. Instead, a broad coalition of donors and supporters carries this responsibility.
The Foundation’s success in fully funding Benevolent Care demonstrates the power of collective support and shared values.
The Impact on Residents and Families
For residents facing financial hardship, Benevolent Care is more than financial assistance. It is a promise that they will not have to uproot their lives during difficult times. This promise provides emotional comfort and security.
Families also experience relief knowing their loved ones are protected. They can focus on spending quality time together rather than worrying about housing stability. This peace of mind strengthens family bonds and contributes to overall well-being.
Looking Ahead: Sustaining Support for Benevolent Care
The achievement of 100% funding is a milestone, but sustaining this level of support requires ongoing commitment. The Foundation will continue to engage donors and the community to ensure Benevolent Care remains fully funded in the years to come.
Residents and families can take comfort in knowing that Capitol Lakes is dedicated to protecting quality of life through every stage of aging. The Foundation’s work highlights the importance of community and generosity in creating a secure and welcoming environment.
