At the Capitol Lakes Foundation, we believe one of the most meaningful investments we can make is in the people who serve our residents every day. Through our Professional Development Scholarship program, we are proud to support team members who are seeking opportunities to grow their skills, expand their leadership potential, and bring new ideas back to our community.

Recently, the Foundation provided a scholarship to support Kjersti Beth, Administrative Assistant, CPHQ, as she attended the Administrative Professionals Conference hosted by Madison College.

While Kjersti's official title is Administrative Assistant, her role at Capitol Lakes has grown significantly in recent years. In addition to supporting Executive Director Tim Conroy, she collaborates with teams across the organization, including the Health Center and Business Office, helping to keep important initiatives moving forward and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.

The conference offered a variety of professional development opportunities, including sessions focused on executive communication strategies, project management, navigating difficult conversations, and the practical use of artificial intelligence in administrative work. The event also provided valuable networking opportunities and the chance to learn from experienced administrative professionals from a variety of industries.

Reflecting on the experience, Kjersti shared:

"The conference was equal parts inspirational and educational, and I definitely came away with more tools in my admin toolbox that will not only help me with my developing role as Tim's assistant, but some strategies I can also use as I continue supporting the Health Center and Business Office. I left feeling refreshed, empowered, and ready to keep making an impact at Capitol Lakes."

She also described the conference as "truly one of the best conferences I've been to in the last couple of months."

Kjersti's enthusiasm for learning and her willingness to take on new responsibilities exemplify the kind of leadership and commitment that strengthen our Capitol Lakes community. As her role continues to evolve, the knowledge and skills gained through opportunities like this conference help ensure that Capitol Lakes remains a place where both employees and residents can thrive.

The Capitol Lakes Foundation is honored to support team members like Kjersti through professional development scholarships. By investing in lifelong learning, we are investing in the future of our organization and the exceptional people who make Capitol Lakes such a special community.
