Residents at Capitol Lakes are benefiting from a new piece of therapy equipment that is already making a meaningful difference in their care.

Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Capitol Lakes Foundation, we were recently able to purchase a NuStep machine for our Therapy Department. A NuStep is an essential piece of equipment that is often used daily in therapy sessions. The previous machine, after years of consistent use, had fallen into disrepair, and residents receiving outpatient therapy services had expressed the need for a replacement.
The NuStep is designed to support safe, low-impact movement, helping individuals build strength, improve cardiovascular health, and maintain mobility. For many residents, it plays an important role in recovery, rehabilitation, and maintaining independence.
Recognizing both the need and the impact this equipment would have, the Foundation Board approved a $6,000 grant to fund the purchase. Today, the new machine is already in use, supporting therapy patients and enhancing the quality of care provided by staff.
The Therapy Department shared their appreciation in a recent note, expressing gratitude for the donors who made this possible. Their message reflects what this investment truly represents: not just new equipment, but expanded opportunities for residents to stay active, regain strength, and continue doing the things they enjoy.

This is one example of how your support directly improves daily life at Capitol Lakes—helping ensure that residents have access to the tools and care they need to thrive.
