Your Impact: Capitol Lakes Community Read 2026

This year’s Capitol Lakes Community Read brought residents together through the powerful story of A Map for the Missing. Thanks to your generosity, 82 residents received copies of the book and had the opportunity to engage with its themes.

Nearly 20 residents took part in one of two discussion groups, where conversations explored generational expectations, gender roles, and cultural identity. Residents also reflected on themes of family obligation, love, and hope, drawing thoughtful connections between the novel and their own experiences.

As one resident shared:

The discussion yesterday was fascinating...Thank you for pointing us to the book.

We are grateful for your support, which makes programs like this possible and helps create opportunities for residents to connect, reflect, and learn together.
